DAT Solutions, the largest freight-matching load board operator in the US truckload spot market, is expanding its data analysis business and the services it offers shippers by acquiring the Freight Market Intelligence Consortium (FMIC) from supply chain consultant Chainalytics.

Terms of the transaction, announced Monday, were not disclosed.

The acquisition brings DAT a business that not only benchmarks and forecasts truck, intermodal, and ocean pricing for shippers, but increasingly provides analyses on pricing and contracting affecting tactical, lane-by-lane transportation purchasing decisions. FMIC adds $50 billion in contract shipper transaction data to DAT’s $68 billion in annual spot market data.
