can company fine me??

Hi. Have a general question that I am trying to find an answer to.

Herss my question.

Informed today that my company is thinking about fining its drivers $1000 if they dont stop at the stop signs in thier yard.

Where as I agree with some sort of punishment for not stopping, I am wondering if they can legally deduct the fine from say my wages if I didnt stop???

I would think there would be legal action to protect you unless you signed something agreeing to the fines.

Read your employment contract. It's either there or it isn't. That'll be your answer.

I'd say that once you were notified of the new policy your continued (voluntary) employment infers consent.

Don't run stop sign and you won't have to worry about it. right! they are there for a reason I would say.

A thousand dollars is a bit harsh but if its in your policy handbook I imagine they can do anything they so desire.With todays economy and greedy companies not making the profit they want they're going to take it out of the little ppl,US.
