Beware the shortage on truck parts

As trucks go down, I’m seeing lots of people now sitting because the parts simply aren’t available. Water pumps, NOX sensors, rebuild kits, you name it.

The consequences of a long worldwide shutdown are now putting truck drivers out of business.

I’m sure we aren’t the only industry feeling this pain, but is has clearly reached us.

There's shortages in all sectors only natural it would affect trucking infact many car parts were already in short supply.

Expectations of further Shortages are also leading to Panic Buying of many parts and components.

many things are in short to no supply. lumber is, and what you can find, it's way higher priced then before the covid.

factories for instance making ammo, are trying to work around the clock, but there is still a pretty big ammo shortage. my local Toyota dealer's sales lot, is like only about 1/3rd filled.

I am sure the Mega's will make out ok, I am sure they can sacrifice a few of their unassigned trucks and wrecks for spare parts.
The smaller operators will be S.O.L. as will be the drivers that can't work.

Nobody stocks anything anymore, they all drop ship from the manufacturer's warehouse. Calling to see if they have anything is an exercise in futility.

I'm the exact opposite. I'm a clean freak. I don't even like dust on the dash. I get pissed when I run through a 2 mile rain. When I quit smoking, (how I ever did that, I don't know) I saved every dollar that I would have spent on smokes and ordered a brand new F-150 Platinum. Now 11 years later, it still looks like it just came off the showroom floor, in and out.

The Pete looks like it did when I picked it up from the dealer and it's not even mine. I can't help it, I take care of my stuff, even if I don't own it.

When I work I can't stay clean. That's why I like the old F250 so much..vinyl seats, rubber floor, sweat and grease don't matter. Go to the parts store as you are instead of showering with a brillo first.

I don't make it a habit to abuse my vehicles but the Buick is for clean and the truck is for work.

Once the Buick goes I'll want something more modern again but not a car and not debt and I don't want to have to prance around it.

I'm also not spending $70,000 on a truck.

I wouldn't spend $70k on a personal vehicle either. I only floated the pick up because Ford offered me 0%. Otherwise, I won't incur any debt either. I'm not going to line other peoples pockets.
