ATRI report calls possible VMT tax costly and complicated

off topic fact. Texas Roadhouse was founded in Indiana. We’re Hoosiers ashamed to use their own name?
Everyone in the midwest has been conditioned by Hollywood to think that there is a magic force that makes steaks taste better in Texas.

The best steak I ever ate was at a little mom and pop restaurant in some tiny little nothing town in the middle of nowhere in Kansas. I don't even remember what I was doing there but they had a big gravel area so I pulled in there.

I should dig up the story... it was in Car & Driver quite a while back... one of the early owners was surprised by Tesla techs who showed up to charge his car. I don't know if it has changed, but early Teslas that went completely dead were permanently dead. So unbeknownst to the owners, Tesla was tracking charge state and location of every one of their vehicles. I want to say it wasn't in the ToS, but it's been too long since I've read it to remember for sure.

I bet that's not solely Tesla.

For example my 2018 F150 knows where my phone is and my phone knows where my 2018 F150 is.

I left the 4 ways on parked at the DC once and 2 days later got a notification that I'd killed my battery.

You'd think it'd be smart enough to be like uh my 4 ways have been on all day and I'm not broken nor do I have a flat tire so let's ask him if he meant to do that to me.

A Tesla probably would.

They even have a dog mode so people don't cook their dogs they're apparently too dumb to own. Or children.

Sounds like you need a Tesla.
I'm starting to worry he's gonna start in on telling us how if Tesla himself hadn't got screwed by Edison, we'd have free energy. 🤔

🤣

How these vehicles will be taxed is interesting. I know when I looked into moving to Washington that registration fees on electric cars was a lot higher.
