Are you masking your true fuel economy???

apu draws fuel from the right side tank. Main engine draws from the left. My fuel shut offs are on the right tank.

I’ve noticed whenever I leave from home, that first tank is great fuel mileage. With this heat, the apu is running pretty constant.

We’ll see what the next 14 days show with the fuel for the apu isolated from the truck road fuel.

APU runs a lot whenever the big engine is shut down in this heat.

any guesses what the fuel economy will show?

Today’s fuel up.

did a bit of idling over the weekend to give me ac while the apu defrosted so I could move a temp probe.

this is from Hillsboro TX to Brownsville to Gadano TX. 745 miles.

The way I look at it, any fuel used, whether by engine, apu, or wabasto, is part of my fuel economy calculation. The latter two merely use less fuel than the engine would to provide the same functions. And IFTA doesn't differentiate between them. Although one could legally run off-road in them.
