Hope the system is a complete "Failure" otherwise this will be deployed in other states on many stretches of roadway..

There’s a rest stop in the middle of the bridge. You could in theory speed like a demon and stop take a whizz and still be over the 18 minutes.

I've only been over that bridge once, westbound, in 2016.

Sarah was with me and I set the cruise at 62 like a Swift truck just so it would take longer and maybe Sarah could spot a gator out the passenger window.

We didn't see any.

But how old is that bridge? I wonder how many workers got eaten by gators during the construction project.

I can't believe people choose to live where there are giant f*ing lizards that eat people.

I keep up with the traffic...

If you actually drove 45mph in a construction zone on a Chicago Freeway you'd get rear-ended or run off the road @Duck will also attest to this..

Now on other places I drive more "Civily" maybe just 5mph over in a construction zone

Bullshit. I drive the construction speed limit or lower everywhere. Never been rear ended, and if I was, whoever did it would pay the price financially.

Speed limits are not that difficult to follow.

And I want those that are speeding through construction to be depending on Uber to get anywhere because they don’t deserve the privilege of driving.

What about those fake construction sites where both lanes are wide open, there are no workers or even equipment present & the only sign of construction are the signs saying so?

Illinois has been doing that for a while now, for the sole purpose of extorting extra money from the public.

I don’t waste my time these days worrying about stuff like that. Speed says 45, I stay below 45. Not worth risking my authority, higher insurance rates, or being blacklisted by a broker due to my driving record.

And in the case of a real construction zone, it’s not worth the risk of running over a worker who happens to trip or slip right into traffic. I would never want that on my conscience.

Signs say trucks use left lane, I do the opposite of 99% of the drivers out here and actually use the left lane as requested.

That's assuming they have a pot to Pee In and "Valid Insurance" which you will not know until after the "Accident"..

Last Time I was in an accident got Tboned and they had NO INSURANCE guy didn't even have a Valid License was suspended..

Luckily I wasn't hurt and I had Full Coverage...

The Body Shop tab was $5800 but I only paid my $500 "deductible" and my insurance paid rest of bill.

Indiana is Much Worse when it comes to Fake Construction Zones infact the Entire State is a Fake Construction Zone everywhere ya go..

And Indiana has 3 times as many Cops watching their roads where as Illinois has cut the State Police by nearly HALF since 1990
