depending on when you graduated you may need a refresher class. maybe smaller companies will take a chance on you, but they also have insurance companies that dictate to them, who gets hired. as for the big mega companies, many times they send you out with a trainer for some road time, each company has a different policy on that.Life halted my military driving career 16 years ago. Finally obtained my civilian CDL A license. Now I am just pimping myself out and being told "No thanks, no recent "experience". So I'm looking forward to all your stories. Hammer down safely. Thanks for having me.
@GAnthony ?looking for a good regional company to work with for a year (New England)
No way am I quitting, but I am now looking for a good regional company to work with for a year (New England) to just get the miles in, but I don't just want to be a "steering wheel holder". My last employment driving regularly was in April, but I am able to drive once or twice a month through school so I am trying to keep my skills up. I appreciate the work it takes and all the experience you all have and can give.
OK... you have a CDL, attended school to get it and no recent exprience. How long has it been since you got your CDL?Now I am confused.
I have my CDL, I got it through NETTTS.
oh so you go to NETTTS in Pawtucket, to keep up your skills..??Now I am confused.

I think he's saying he goes to the school once or twice a month to drive their trucks around and he wants a regional, full-time job.
i do believe the MD location has been closed, since you left. there was a pretty big lawsuit about the school discriminating against "people of color". do a search, i just did and found that.Welcome to the forum. Is NETTTS still around? I went through the Baltimore school in 93.
