There were some problems installing updates, but we'll try again later. If you keep seeing this and want to search the web or contact support for information, this may help: (0x8024500c). This is driving me crazy I spend a good 6 hours last night and many hours today and it's still not working the way it's supposed to from my understanding.

when did you download the updates?

the holiday season, can be especially troublesome, as many people get new computers, laptops, etc, and everyone seemingly is downloading at the same time.

best to get your updates at least a week after the new year holiday.

Win10 self-updates unless you turn off the update settings. You won't know it happened until nothing works right. I use 8.1 and I'm not giving it up until I can't resurrect it anymore. I said that about 7 and I sure miss it.

Yes.

We have discussed this here ad naseuam, take a gander a page or two back.

8.1 ! Well if it ain't broke, don't fix it I guess
is your mentality there.

Yes I still have a Windows 7 system that gives me no probs.

And I just keep a small prog to keep 10 from auto updating until I want an update. Works like a charm.

Btw

Pardon me, sir. Not paying attention to this board for just one day can put you a week behind.

I like 8.1. You don't. Who cares? Use what works for your applications.

For the most part, a person buys a computer of some sorts and turns it on, installs the apps that they like and uses the system mostly for the Internet. Many have no clue how to set a new box up, so they just accept what Microsloth sends them and works around it if need be.

And yeah, technology can be quite frustrating at times, especially when updates don't go smoothly.

If you encountered this issue three years ago, there might have been specific solutions or updates released by Microsoft in the intervening time. It's always a good idea to keep your operating system up to date to avoid such problems.
Are you a bot? 🤔
