up and coming broker looking for help

as the title state, just getting around to starting my own freight broker business and needed some help/general advice for any willing to share their knowledge i thank you in advance. Many say its better to specialize w/ the type of freight that i will broker. Is this the general consensus? does this pertain to new companies as well? Also if i were to specialize what would be the best direction (load types to go with)?

Personally I don't think going with ONLY one type is the way to go. That really narrows things down for you drastically. You may specialize in one aspect but still keep the option open to all aspects. Diversification is a key! If you would like other advise please feel free to message me.

Give me a shout when you get some time. I'd be happy to talk with you. I can tell you don't limit yourself to just one area. A good area to specialize in while still doing it all is Heavy Haul. The big and nasty stuff pays well and agents will hire you on the spot if they know you know your stuff when it comes to moving it.
