Erin Moran of Happy Days ended up having stage 4 throat cancer. Scary in that she thought she bit her tongue one day seeing some blood. Wasn't feeling bad and then it consumed her. Here's the breakdown if you need.

too bad she didn't think to see a doctor sooner. we have all bit our tongues, but i cannot say i ever bit it so much as to bleed. (during normal every day eating or talking)

BUT....when my Bells Palsy attacks me, i will most certainly not only bite my tongue, but my inner cheek as well on the afflicted side.

what i have to do is take more time eating, so that i chew slower, but still the paralyzed area gets bit.

i am certain had she seen a doctor sooner, especially if more blood was seen another time, she would have been cured?

Hard to tell. She didn't look well. We didn't know if she had a sore throat for a while, or hoarseness. Bleeding is usually a later stage sign.
