Ali has been close to death for a very long time. His brain has been pretty much useless for many years from all the "rope~a~dopin'" he did in all those fights trying to wear his opponents out.

What a fighting strategy. Let your opponent beat you senseless until he is worn down then cold **** him.

I think it is better to get in there, knock the ****er out and be done with it. Anything that lasts more than a few minutes is not a fight its a war.
