LaHood ready to take Mexico truck proposal he sent to White House to Congress

WASHINGTON — Secretary of Transportation Ray LaHood says he’s sent a proposal to the White House for a program to replace the recently ended Cross Border Demonstration Project and he’s ready to head to Capitol Hill to convince members of Congress a new program is a go.


“We’ve put together a Mexican truck program that we think meets the criteria from our discussions with a number of members of Congress,” LaHood told the National Press Club May 21.

hopefully the outcry from the public and our elected officials will be as great or greater than the last two times the cross border program voted on and overwhelmingly shut down,of course that was when our elected officials still had a little spine left, today who know if our officials are listening to the people that elected them or are completely spineless and will go along with whatever blowbama and his ilk want.

If we as an industry don't show the power we have,soon ,park it,get on your bike,with your helmet of course ,and ride to mickey d they may let you apply if you can speak spanish. Trying to work within the system WILL NOT WORK, the people who operate their system may throw a small crumb, but they will take that back and more, bite by bite, eat you up and spit you out. It's time to unify pick a front and go for it. Be it Mexican trucks,rest areas,emission control,split speeds or whatever, pick one! Don't waste time writing to any public offical [THEY DON'T CARE] not one can tell you the truth and survive,you don't elect them they elect themselves and they do as they please to benifit themselves. Trying to work with them WILL NOT WORK! Something must be done soon or all will be lost.
