Electrical System Turns Off

Hi Knowledgeable Mechanics,

The electrical system in my 2007 Volvo VNL 670 with a D12 engine shuts down every ten minutes or so. The system shuts down both when the engine is running and also when the engine is not running but the key is turning on and the electrical system is on. I installed a new egr cooler and valves but I don’t think it is related. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Did all of this start happening immediately after the work you did on the truck?

My first obvious step would be to retrace the work, particularly to see if a connection wasn't secured, or a ground wasn't connected.

Honestly, I've seen goofy stuff like this created after disconnecting or connecting batteries while the key was still in the on position. On some trucks, this can create havoc on an ECM.
