Dr. Anthony Lefteris, who was a certified medical examiner for the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, was sentenced to a community confinement facility, house arrest, probation and community service after pleading guilty to submitting false information and making false statements to the Department of Transportation.
A chiropractor based in Atlanta, Lefteris was accused of falsifying information on medical examination forms and failing to complete or perform required tests in the examination. After an undercover operation, the FMCSA chose to revoke about 6,600 medical certificates that Lefteris had granted.
