It states on their student form that if you have been unemployed for more than 30 days,they want two notarized letters stating why.How silly! what's up with this?

I think one of the reasons is to prevent drivers who have been working for several different companies and quitting/getting fired from going to work there.

I have never heard about that, I know DOT regs says that your last 10 years of employment has to be fully accounted for, I was told with no gaps longer then 2 weeks, I do know that you need to prove it though, for almost 4 years, I tripped leased through a couple of brokers and then went I went to lease on with M.S. Carriers, they were not going to sign me on, but I talked with the v.p. and I showed him copies of this and that and they let me sign on. I doubt that would happen nowadays
