Motor Carrier EC's Going For It

Truck inspected yesterday. Visited the 'rents while I was in town. Sorted some old parts and such that I had at my mom's into trash, scrap, and keep. Not having the vehicle or about ready to not have the vehicle makes it easier to finally let it all go.

Today I'm going to change the oil in the pickup. Walmart has a pretty good deal at about $3/qt if you buy it in gallon or 2 gallon jugs. Turns out it meets the Mack oil spec too so I got a whole bunch of it coming to the house.

I usually pay $6/qt for the OEM stuff from the dealer. I didn't know who else made it.

The more I play around with the old Ford the less desire I have to sell it. I could probably drop a 13+ speed transmission in that thing and run it on a casual basis.

My Facebook marketplace ad has over 5,000 views so far and it's only been about a week

So I dunno.

Welp the Internet did me dirty. Forums said I could upgrade oil filters to the longer one on the newer super duties since it's a 2WD truck.

Nope. It's every so slightly too long so it won't center on the threads. Fortunately I found an oil filter that I had forgotten about. So I didn't need to buy it in the first place.

Not going to return it since it's my fault and I've already gotten old oil on it. I'll eat that mistake.

At any rate, we're all changed over now. Good to have her freshened up since she's gonna be my daily again for a bit.

You're an honorable man. You ordered the wrong part, admitted to it and did not seek a refund.

I do that. I order parts in advance of the need. Then when the time comes for use, they don't fit. I can't return them, because it is like 6 months past the return date. I have 2 air filters, 2 transmission filters, a set of rear brake pads and an assortment of other odds and ends sitting on the corner of the bench. I can't use them. I don't know anyone with the same vehicles and I can't bring myself to throwing them away.
