The Long and Winding Road...

All the short/regional loads were going cheap this morning, on top of that the shylocs wanted ya to sit on them all weekend.

Dang brokers need a bitch slappin'! :mad-97:

Plan B... look further afield. Found 12,000 lbs that needed relocationally engineered to Salt Lake.

Recharged my bottle of liquid smoke the other day... we gonna BBQ!

Got the 12000 pounds 'o whatever delivered to the Tesoro refinery in Salt Lake first thing. Beat the XPO local guy and UPS dude back to th' receiving dock.

:biggrin-2:

Boogied up to Ogden fer a washout, and plotted my next move. Got taters out of Sugar City ID for above the average lane rate to Harrisonville MO.

That DC used to be really good.
I've been in there more than 24 hours early several times and got inloaded right away.

Of course it's been a long time...

I hang a right at Jackson, and head down to Rock Springs. Cuts some miles off from heading south through Pocatello, and it's a prettier drive.

In order to do that, you have to go through Victor. The section of WY-22 that's weight restricted to 60K is between Victor and Jackson, before you "hang a right" to Rock Springs.

But. WTF do I know. I only go to Driggs every other week. Your business if you want the ticket.

Trucks found in violation of the trailer and/or weight restrictions are subject to Wyoming State Statute 24-1-109, running a road closure, and the driver can be fined up to $435. In addition, law enforcement could charge the driver with careless driving, which could lead to a $235 fine or reckless driving, which could lead to up to six months in jail and/or a maximum $750 in fines.

Please don't try to tell me a spud load runs under 60K. I have hauled my share of them and they run as close to gross as possible.

I 'spose ya might have a problem if yer a schmuck, and ya run WY33 west outta Sugar City. (I should make a comment about a certain hoser here... :tapeshut: )

But no! We be perfesshunal truckers here!

:biggrin-2:

I always run back down to Idaho Falls, and take US26 down through Alpine. Alas! The price of doing it right.
