New DOJ Rules on Medical Marijuana Don't Apply to Truckers

"New Department of Justice guidelines for federal prosecutors in states that allow the use of medical marijuana do not trump the Department of Transportation's longstanding rules on the use of the drug by safety-sensitive transportation employees, including truck drivers."

Sorry to disappoint, but, I have a sorted past. I have ingested every mind altering substance I could get my grippers on. For about twenty years I centered my life around gettin' a buzz. I have smoked weed from the four corners of the earth. I have slipped into a dairy farmer's pasture to harvest wild mushrooms to make some out of this world tea. I've eaten all forms of speed, just for fun, then taken all forms downers to ease me back down. Timothy Leary was one of my heroes. Cocaine was a mild drug that I free-based before "crack" became so popular, and, the best buzz of all were the opiates, including heroin.

I am soooo blessed... God must of had other plans for me because I found none of the above unmanageable, or, overly addictive. When my son was born, and, I held him in my arms, there was an almost magical transition of my life, and priorities. That was 26 years ago. Now, I'm a 2 beer buzz and I have no desires to get more stoned than that.

I'm surprised weed isn't legal, c'mon it's 2009 almost 2010 and it should be legal. I'm in now way shape or form condoning or endorsing the use of weed.

I think it would be legal if there was a way to properly measure how much a person was under the influence.

With alcohol, it enters and leaves your system very quickly, so the measurment is much more accurate. Personally, I still think it is BS, because people tolerate the intake differently, but at least there is a somewhat reliable gauge.

With pot, you are looking at around 90 days that it will stay in your system, and there is no real way that I know of to gauge "how much" is in your system.
