hey guys just finishing up school (western Truck in cali) have several offers for work ,wanting to run long /partner.considering us xpress .i was told the recruiters are less than honest.they promised us 1 stop loads new truck &48cts per mile split 5000 miles a week.how much of this should i believe,any advice........i need to make a decision.

Real life says 4000 the way the industry is at the moment.
Most Recruiters DONT tell you that TEAMs do NOT get payed D.H Miles and right now? You'll be DEAD HEADING alot, or sitting. - Regardless what that recruiter says.
Recruiter didnt tell you, NO Payed D.H, No Layover pay and actuality says you WILL be running ( around ) 4000 + SPLIT
You do the MATH... Whatcha say? 4-10"
Here Goes...
In a 2 weeks time now... Think about this CLEARLY.. - ROGER?
If you EAT $12.00 PER DAY it's going to cost you AROUND ( 168.00 ) every two weeks. ONLY - $12.00 PER DAY and dont go over that..
But your running TEAM right no worries.
INCOME from a 4000 mile ride your PAY : 48C Split
Thats $960.00 Per WEEK at only ( 4000 ) Miles P Week
Now REMOVE FOOD - Wife and family aint eatin it.. YOU are.. so... DEDUCT your living EXP first... before you send MOMMA home any moneys....
$960.00 Possible - REVENUE
-FOOD at only $12.00 Per Day = $84.00 for 7 DAYS
Now for STATE/ FEDERAL / MEDICAL, Ect....
Lets just think small because I've NO CLUE where you live... 10-4?
On top of that? I've no clue your W2 status.
$876 After YOU eat 84.00 of that paycheck n a week - first...
Now at least deduct 25% in just withholding's to cover Mr. TAX man and that nice new FAT ASS Ride OBAMA just purchased ....
Which -25% = $219.00 Which also leaves you to send home to Momma,
That whopper of a paycheck: $657.00 - Pretty good... But Im sure Im leaving other things outta that.. and on top of that? You'll spend more than $12.00 Per day on food... TRUST me...

The company's going to charge you a CASH advance and also COMDATA'S going to charge you to TAKE your moneys, that your company just put on your COMDATA card... DUh... how could I leave that one out...
IF you get 2 CASH advances within the WEEK? Consider another $4.50 times two gone... @ $9.00 Total for 2 Cash advances...
Not including when you tell the Company to DIRECT deposit your moneys from their account to your's..

So now we are AROUND the right number...
$645.50 Per Week when that TRUCK turn's 4000 MILES....
Then you get to explain to MOMMA how I cant come home because the Company's put YOU and your TEAM driver in a ( NEW ) truck... So I've GOTTA pay for it.. honey.. I cant come home...

Damnit boy , go to bed. Because now i gotta say, another good post. I don't see how anybody could take what you have stated and read it & take offense to it. Honestly i think if it does tick someone off, they better get those feelings off there shoulders because you'll never survive trucking like that.
Personally i have expensive taste and there is no way i could eat on 12$ a day. It would cost me 100$-125$ a week plus the wally mart food of about 25$ each week. Sucks to be a meat/taters kinda huy.
