Well, I don't know why you got a truck if you don't have any experience.. I wouldn't think it would be profitable to have just one truck and no experience.. You will need a driver.. (costs $$$) and if you have no experience, you need a mechanic (costs $$$) and you have a LOT of research to do cause you'll need to find loads etc.. Lots of time and money for one truck... Not worth it in my opinion unless you have experience.
If you have no experience in the trucking industry, I think it would be senseless to put a driver in a truck that you own.
How are you going to get freight to keep this driver running?
What will you do when the driver is on the side of the road with a blowout, or a major breakdown?
Who is going to do the regular maintenance on the truck?
How familiar are you with all the laws/regulations for motor carriers?
if it is a good truck lease it with a company, Landstar or any comany good comapny that will accept you and your truck, get an accountant for payroll or do it yourself, get a account with a TA or pilot for maint.,
