Another eastern storm


South


- Another wave of low pressure moves through the region producing moderate to heavy rain and thunderstorms today.
- A few severe thunderstorms are possible from northern Florida into the Southeast Atlantic area today.
- Main severe threats are damaging wind gusts and hail.
- Additional rainfall of 1 to 3 inches are forecast for the eastern Carolinas and Southeast Georgia.
- This rain falls on very saturated soil and should runoff quickly leading to an increased threat of flooding.
- Some rain and snow mixed will fall in northwest TN today, but there should be no accumulations. Some snow is also possible in higher elevations of the Appalachians mainly above 3000 feet.
- Highs will rebound into the 50s in the TX Panhandle/OK today where snow fell on Tuesday.
- Highs mainly in the 50s across much of the Southeast.
- Much of FL will be in the 70s to near 80 (some mid to upper 80s across southernmost areas).
- The region north of FL will get a good chance to dry out on Thursday and Friday.


Northeast


- Light snow will move into parts of the region by late Wednesday.
- Modest snowfall totals (mainly 1"-3") from northern VA to southern New England Wednesday night. Philadelphia could see 2-4". The relatively light amounts may cause a few minor problems for those continuing to recover from Winter Storm Nemo.
- Rain will move into coastal areas of VA and MD.
- The rest of the region will be dry during the day.
- Highs will be in the 30s to low 40s across most of the region today.


Midwest


- Light snow will fall today from ND to northern WI.
- Rain/snow mix will occur across the Ohio Valley today.
- Windy conditions are expected across the western Dakotas with gusts up to 45 mph.
- Mild highs in the 20s in northern sections up to the 50s in the central and southern Plains.
- The Great Lakes and Ohio Valley areas will likely see highs in the 40s today.


West

- Rain showers are expected today across western sections of WA and OR
- Rain/snow showers will occur from northern and central ID to western MT and snow showers in western WY
- The rest of the region will see a dry Wednesday.
- Windy conditions will occur across much of MT and WY where winds could gust as high as 60 mph in Chinook prone areas
- Highs will be in the 30s and 40s across the Inter-Mountain West
- The Desert Southwest will see highs in the 60s.
- Mild highs of near 50 will be felt along the Front Range (including Denver).
