I'm thinking of going to truck school in Reno, NV. Does anyone know anything about Dessert truck school? I,ve spoke with the owner and she stated that she can get me a job after graduation. the school is not accredidated and she said that does not mean anything she just didn,t want to pay for the stuped paper. So she said

I would ask her what companies hire graduates from that school...If they are not a accredited school, most of the companies I have ever seen that hire students always want them from a accredited school.

Sounds like it was a little more than just paying for the "stupid" papers...

Didn't Swift go out of business? Just a rumor I heard from my drivers, not sure. When hiring drivers, my insurance company requires 2 years OTR experience. 1 year can often be replaced by school, but that would have to be an accreditted school. Good luck to you.

i would be really leary of them not beig accredited. and be afraid after all that nobody would touvh me since they do not recognize the school itself . then you would have one hell of a hassle to prove you got the cdl thru a school and from where. they sound like a fly by night type of business. i would pass on them and go elsewhere for training. it would really suck having to do the same thing twice and paying twice. if it sounds too good to be true theb it probably is. just cover your ass and be careful. good luck. let us know what happens.

sorry i can't help you there. all i can say is google it, look in the paper, phone book or even truck stop. truck stops have a section where you'll see these personal cards hanging on the wall advertising for everything from getting a job to getting a lawyer. i used see them more in the pilots and they are usually located near the bathrooms. good luck.
