T700 or T680

Company I signed on and start school with end of the month, use both the T700 and will be getting a bunch of NEW T680s...Anyone have a preference one over the other. I have been reading a lot of issues the 680 is having with APUs not working. Any other pro's or con's? I may be given the choice of choosing one. I know it's personal preference and that is why I am asking what is Yours?

APU is not standard factory equipment. When I decide whether a particular truck is reliable or not, APU is pretty close to dead last of considerations.

I'm not a Paccar fan at all. But given the choice, I'd lean toward the 700 over the 680.

I don't like the narrow cab of the 680.

Yeah I am leaning towards the 700 as well mainly because it looks like it has more room. I am not overly concerned about APU either, just have read on the forum people having 2015 T680 with APU problems. The down side is they just ordered like 400 new Tractors and ALL of them are AUTO Shifters and having dealt with LARGE vehicles in the fire service I HATE the auto stick, but again beggers can't be choosers and I don't plan on doing this long enough to become an O/O so if they give me the Auto Stick...what can I do...Thank You for the Input

Negative talk of Kenworths, particularly the t680, can cause immediate termination of membership priveledges on this forum.

At least as long as I am driving one ;)

The t680 has a few inches more of room on the inside and the 700 is suppose to be more aerodynamic saves .4-7 more gallons of fuel and the hood is actually more narrower

All (6) of our drivers that had 700's say the 680 is better. Certainly the interior is laid out better IMHO. Of course as far as I'm concerned non will come close to the Volvo 780 as far as room inside.

I'm on my second 680 and have zero complaints. As for APU problems, that's not Kenworth. I have a Carrier Comfort Pro and it works fantastic.

the 680's for millis transfer will include fridges, and 1800 watt inverters. The 700's don't have them, however, I'd rather have a 700 over a 680, especially when it comes to Millis Transfer. Reason being....some of the 700's are going to be a little older. Millis keeps their trucks for about 3 years. The 700's are probably going to be more used by drivers that have been there a year or more, hence being able to run 66. the 680's coming out are only running 62. That may not be a lot of a difference to many drivers out there, but it helps not getting your doors blown off... Just my 2 cents, plus a dollar.
