I don't have any experience with any jet with an afterburner but, I'll tell ya what. Just looking at that jet start/air start brought back my fears. I hated when we had to use those things mostly on DC8s, they could not start on there own. So yeah get like 2 engines going so they could cross-bleed to start the others.
So you are in front of a live engine and walk in front to unhook the hoses that could kill you.
Pushing back an aircraft that is powering up and the ramp is icy and snowy, Good times not
Of course the military will use a civilian airport from time to time. We were out rounding up ramp equipment at night on the ramp but near the runway and all I heard was LOUD and then saw the flame and that was about all I seen and heard and the plane was gone!
When washing an A7 you had to send someone down the intake to tape off some avionics.I don't have any experience with any jet with an afterburner but, I'll tell ya what. Just looking at that jet start/air start brought back my fears.
I don't think we were ever quite that cruel towards an FNG, although convincing the 18-year-old cherry just out of tech school on his first duty assignment to Korea that he had the clap BEFORE he'd ever had a chance to go downtown and get laid, comes close. When washing an A7 you had to send someone down the intake to tape off some avionics.
The motor actually sat back probably some 12 feet from the intake lip. It was a rather spooky proposition even if you knew there was no way it was gonna start.
But what if you didn't know.......
Apparently a favorite prank was to send the newest guy down the intake to tape off and while he was down there right next to the big ****in' fan, someone would put the intake screen on (effectively locking that poor bastard in) and then start the huffer......
The high pitched keening of a man who is certain he is about to be ingested by this jet engine was matched only by the howls......****ing HOWLS..... of laughter of everybody who wasn't going thru this particular shorts filling horror.
I saw it once and the only thing that comes close to making me laugh that hard is the pic of a certain youtube Scorsese wannabe who just got smacked in the head with an OD sign.
Oh and btw, @Duck is drunk.
Sadly.....I know the guy."Fiscally dry"
When you want to sound intelligent but don't know how...
"speed limit was 60 doing 65 like I always do"
...and proceed to prove it.
But anyway that whole caption is so blatant it's probably fake.
Not sure on the front door, as I never saw him. The truck was slow, about 25 mph or so. He'd had to slow way down for a narrow bridge, his back door didn't get traffic blocked. It was the short bottom section of a windmill tower. How much slower was the oversize/escort combo running?
Maybe bigger flags? Not sure on the front door, as I never saw him. The truck was slow, about 25 mph or so. He'd had to slow way down for a narrow bridge, his back door didn't get traffic blocked. It was the short bottom section of a windmill tower.
I think removal of the cranial-rectal inversion would be more effective.Maybe bigger flags?
Yeah but......but, FLATBED!!!!I think removal of the cranial-rectal inversion would be more effective.
Noooo! Not one of the elect ****ing up??!!! Demote his unworthy azz quick!Yeah but......but, FLATBED!!!!
I'm shocked. Flabbergasted. Befuddled. For the Record, western express does not qualify as flatbed.
I ran into a western express flatbedder at a plant where I was unloading coils in Menominee Wisconsin. He was struggling and unloading in front of me so I jumped out to lend a hand. Get the tarps off and the little bit of securement he had on there made me wonder how the hell it stayed on the deck to get there. Talked to the guy, showed him how mine was done and how the tarp was rolled up and Ect. He said “thanks this is way more than they gave me. They trained me to pull refer I come in to get assigned my truck and they said oh you’re pulling a flat now. Showed me a one hour video on securement and gave me the keys”
Scary ****. I kid you not.
WRONG. They're your brethren whether you like it or not.For the Record, western express does not qualify as flatbed.
Ok...then every antifa member is you’re brother by that theory. They just take a strong stance for their political views.WRONG. They're your brethren whether you like it or not.
Except they're polar opposites of me on the left/right spectrum.Ok...then every antifa member is you’re brother by that theory. They just take a strong stance for their political views.
