Pennsylvania adopts rule to accommodate truck platoons

A new law in Pennsylvania provides authority to test driver-assistive truck platooning technology on highways. The concept uses a lead truck to control the speed and braking of following trucks.

Gov. Tom Wolf has signed into law a bill to allow driverless trucks to operate in violation of the state’s following distance rule for large vehicles. The rule applies for up to three vehicles while working on limited-access highways or interstates.

Why don't they just allow trucks to pull double 53s everywhere instead. At least the cars can't squeeze in between and f everything up.

Platooning is a colossally bad idea and they don't even understand why.

For decades we have been "platooning" and they said it is illegal and called it a Convoy.
That was with actual and factual people that communicated to each other about lane changes and need to brake. ILLEGAL!
Now some how it is legal because big bidness in Silicon valley petitioned the powers that be?
