Our truck was towed away by a local wrecker last night enGAged by the truck stop. At no time were we or the driver contacted ?Our phone number is on the truck . There are tiny signs saying you must purchase a $8 parking permit from them. Tiny and I mean tiny or you'll be towed.
This morning I phoned the Truck Stop Manager Ali, an abrupt individual who told me it wasnt of his concern ? and put the phone down on me?
How is this justifyed ? it has cost us over $650 to get our truck back on to the road from these bandits at Sosebee's Wrecker Service 3961 Old Dixie Hwy, Hapeville, GA 30354. With fuel prices at an all time high just how are we to operate when these Truck stops seem to be a law unto them selves .
Be warned if you use this truck stop you could loose your truck !!! and your familys food money .
Hardly the correct name for a Truck Stop "Patriots" when all they are doing is trying to destroy our trucking industry .

This is something that everyone needs to pay attention to though. Many truck stops have a policy against parking for any period of time, particularly overnight, and more particularly when you are not there with the vehicle.

Always check with the truck stop before ever leaving your vehicle unattended.

This is a clear case in need of truckers to stand together and boycott that station. Word needs to get out over the CB to drivers in that region about your circumstance, and the action which should occur to put that station either out of business, or to adjust it's business attitude towards the customer's which patron it's services. Only through a united boycott force will this ignorant business manager change this extortion activity...you know he's most likely getting kickback from this tow company.

If a parking fee is required to park at a facility with offered parking...it should be clearly advertised...

Well that puts a different light on the situation. Are there signs at the truck entrance, fuel pumps and fuel desk?

I know they are posted out in the lot.

The problem this place faces is that truck stops in the area are hard to come by, and their lot is constantly packed with trucks that are just "parked" there, with nobody in them. Especially at night. Paying customers find it impossible to find a place to park.

To add, most trucks stops have it mentioned somewhere or another than unattended vehicles will be towed. Few actually follow up with the towing, but it does happen.

As mentioned above, always ask somebody. Don't assume you can leave your truck somewhere and expect it to be there when you get back.

I looked the # up for patriots its (404) 366-4562 i call and let them know i was displeased about how they treat truckers and that this info was out on the net, if nothing else it might worry them a bit. perhaps if some others call it might worry them enough to change some policies of theirs

Thanks every one for your replies . I agree fully lets all Boycott Patriot Truck Stop in Forest Park, GA.... To give an update on how things have turned out so far

I complained to the Ga Public Service Commission. And now can expect a full refund from the towing company as their signs posted are not correct.

The truck stop how ever I havent got very far with . They do have very poor signage about their $8 charge . I have written to the Better Business bureau but they havent rerplied as such .
I hope in posting this I have helped bring to attention this appaulling Business practice that this truck stop deals in and helped others avoid this costly dishonest practice.

That place is a hell hole. I stayed there last month. They do have signs though so good luck fighting them. Rudest people I have seen in a long time.

that pilot got worse when they closed the T/A. from what i have heard they are putting a flying j there to replace the t/a. petro on the westside is getting worse as we speak. they only truck stop half assed decent now is the pilot on I 85 south of atlanta in newnan.

Towed away

I also had a truck towed away from this same Truck Stop by the same Towing Company. My driver was inside and was not paged. I believe this to be a racket. Yes, someone should sit there on the cb and make sure all truckers know what kind of place this is.

I dont know if the towing company has changed its signs there . The sign must give two forms of payment options It cant only say "CASH Only" is a technical point but I managed to get a full refund from them after I complained to the Ga Public Service Commission. If you can get your driver to get photos of the signs you stand a chance of geting your money back. Unfortunatly I didnt manage to get anything done to the Truck Stop Crooks . Yes CB is the only way to promote this is a bad place to stop. Drop me a line if I an help further
