The Owner-Operator Independent Drivers Association is encouraging truckers to participate in a survey about the commercial driver medical exam process.
Last month, the American Transportation Research Institute and Mayo Clinic launched a set of surveys designed to solicit motor carrier and commercial driver input on the impact that the National Registry of Certified Medical Examiners has had on the exam process. The national registry, which was started in 2014, requires medical examiners performing Department of Transportation physicals to take an approved course and to pass an exam before issuing medical certificates.
