One Week Until Shutdown - Be Very Active

We are just a week away from the April 1 date for the trucker Shutdown. If you support this effort, it is very important that you do anything and everything you can this week to get the word out.

  • CB Radio
Announce the date at every truck stop you to go, and do it in a productive manner. People will be ready and waiting to argue (big surprise on the CB), don't be baited by these people, and don't let them discourage you.
  • Make Flyers and pass them out
If you have the time and the ability to do this, pass as many out as you can.
Whatever you can do to get the word out, do it.

We need to get the word out ot all drivers by using the news media out there to get the message out across the nation. We need to get as many non-trucker to participate as well, or to at least supporting the truckers. Write "letters to the editors" of your home newspapers. Call you radio and TV stations.

The way I see it, our lap-dog legislators are putting the "fix" in to get more Mexican truck drivers into the U.S. to break the backs of U.S. truck drivers. If you haven't read about "The North American Union" your behind the 8-ball. If you think this is happening just to get you to pay more for fuel you don't know the real reason behind the falling dollar, the oil speculators, and the Arab oil slick involvement with the terrorists. The war in Iraq in a smoke screen to what is happening in the U.S. Ben Laden said in the beginning that destroying the U.S. economy was his target, and it beginning to look like he's and his gang of thugs are going to win this round.

In 2004 truckers in Europe went on strike for three day over diesel prices, by parking their trucks on the freeways, locking the trucks up, and walked away. The government said get the trucks off the road or they would tow them away. There were thousands of trucks and farm tracker parked on the freeways. The government lowered desiel prices when they saw that there was no way to move all those trucks.

It's up to you. You can keep pissing and moaning and end in losing your trucks, or you can strike!

fuel trucks most likely won't shut down. For the most part, those are company operations.

We have 4 tanker trucks and we do haul fuel. Fuel Haulers have a bad enough name in this industry and this doesn't involve just the fuel haulers shutting down. It involves everybody that makes a living driving a truck. It doesn't matter what thay haul or who they work for. This is an industry that supports the American way of life and all driver's, whether they be owner operators or work for a Company should support this effort. If drivers that worked for a Company said they wouldn't drive, just how many truck drivers with a decent safety record, could they replace in a short amount of time? So guess what? Those Companies are going to feel the crunch just as much as us little guys. Our Tankers are coming off the road on April 1st. It isn't about Fuel Haulers shutting down, it is about Fuel prices and this involves the trucking industry as a whole.
