Oklahoma bill advances; would increase fines for overweight trucks

Drivers of overweight vehicles would face escalating fines depending on just how heavy the trucks are loaded, under a bill endorsed by the Oklahoma Senate. The Senate unanimously approved a bill that would establish seven stages of penalties for vehicles or combinations of vehicles in excess of the gross weight limitations. It now moves to the House for further consideration.
