PRINCE GEORGE, B.C. -- A new, state-of-the-art, commercial vehicle inspection station and Weigh-in-Motion weigh scale is now open to truck traffic in B.C. The station - officially named the Red Rock Inspection Station - is located on Highway 97 south of Prince George.
"The completion of the Red Rock Inspection Station is another important milestone in our work along the Cariboo Connector," said Transportation and Infrastructure Minister Shirley Bond. "We've put in place the latest technology to ensure truck traffic flows as efficiently as possible along the route, and we've also made safety improvements to the highway that will benefit commercial traffic and the residents of Red Rock and area.
"The Government of Canada is committed to ensuring the safety and efficiency of transportation routes across Canada," said Dick Harris, Member of Parliament for Cariboo-Prince George, on behalf of the Honourable Chuck Strahl, Minister of Transport, Infrastructure and Communities. "I'm proud to see work completed on this important highway. Together with the Province of British Columbia, we are investing in highway infrastructure that will stimulate our economy, increase traffic flow, and improve motorist safety throughout the region.
