Time to replace my GPS again. Rand McNally no longer will update my old TND-730.

Ranger375 was using a program called “smart truck route 2” and yesterday I decided to pay for a 12-month subscription and start figuring it out.

The first thing I did was figure out where the mute button was. The “volume” and “mute” button actually need to be turned on in the settings. It was buried in the “driver assist” menu.

If you pay for a 3-year subscription, what I’ve spent on my Rand McNally gps devices, I could have paid for 33 years worth of truck route .

The more I play with it, seems to be a decent program.
Samsung S3 10” tablet sits over my dash switch blanks.

Eventually the Rand McNally on the windshield will go away.

Yesterday I delivered this to a farm south of Manchester TN. Ran the Rand McNally in tandem with STR2. Set up the dimensions in both applications

STR2 gave me better information for the route and ahead of any slowdowns than Rand McNally ever did. Typical Crashville stupidity and I was able to plan for the by-pass avoiding any lost time as a result.

I had a series of 15 notifications from STR2 to read and go through. This is connected with Google maps and really caters to trucking.
