There are several states that have speed differentials like Montana. Cook county (Chicago), utah, Idaho just to name a few where you'll have cars running 20+ mph faster than trucks.

I think I-10 in CA is 55 for trucks and 70 for cars (right after the border). And you know cars run much faster than that 85 to 90+ (and trucks too). Haven't seen much or heard about crashes in that section of I-10 going to LA...
I guess once you're used to it, it won't matter much. Many times, I feel AZ is more dangerous than CA on the highways. Lot's of retirees and snowbirds in AZ that drive 55 - 60 in 65 zone where many are doing 75+.
