To even out the weight in your trailer so when you go to the weigh stations you will be legal. You have to weigh your load at the truckstop scales, that will show you if you have too much weight on the drives or the rear....

Depends on your trailer, at Wabash we have a bogie with an Auto-Scaler on it. Tells you how much weight is on each axle and overall. Sweet stuff. Now getting your company to pay for it is another story.
