New To Trucking How to be picky about your employer?

A cursory glace at this forum tells me volumes. Among my foremost observations is this: Y'all are stingy.

But now that I have my CDL, and I'm about to go looking for work, maybe it's about time I get stingy too.

So, each of you who would care to read and reply to this thread, what would you say are the top 3 qualities that must be present at any OTR freight employer? What things should I be stingy about when looking for work? What are the red flags?

I disagree, but I’m not arguing. I can see your point. The HOS are there to protect drivers, but ELDs just dumb it down to allow less qualified drivers to run. The most fun I had trucking was no gps tracking and paper logs. You wanted to drive 12-16 hours a day you could, in either country. The key is “if you wanted”, nobody forced me. I miss my comic book... :cautious:

I also disagree with speed governors :D
No one gives a flying **** about what you agree with.
