Freight Market Looks To Be Turning Really Ugly This Week

Clearly, I am talking about spot market, not contracts, so not everyone will be seeing the same thing at the moment.

I just checked the previous day via DAT for dry van, and much of the United States was well below 1 load per truck. Checked after that for the current "real time", which is based on current truck and load postings, and it got even worse for most of America.

Upon quickly doing the same searches for reefer and flatbed, the news looks the same.

If this is where the trend is going, it happened a little sooner than I expected.

Tighten up the belts, this looks to be a really rough ride.

As for me, currently sitting at the house waiting on diagnosis on my truck to find out whether the repair will be in the $3k range, or closer to possibly a $20k range, or somewhere in between. Also trying to reach finance company regarding refinancing to cover the repair costs, and reaching anyone there is quickly proving to be impossible.

It's getting interesting.

Seems to be the "rattlesnake on the trigger" affair for booking a load.
