Flatbed or Reefer???

Good day!
I currently drive for Werner. Been with them almost 4 months. Have overall about 7 months of recent otr experience and 5 yrs with my cdl.
Looking to get on with another company, barely making 2k miles a week here which is only $400 to $500 after taxes, etc.
Was looking at Knight transportation for refrigerated (have some experience) or Melton truck lines to run flatbed (no experience).

Don't mind hard work, just looking to run more miles a week while I continue to build my experience and later down the road jump onto a smaller company (non mega carrier)

I'm also from south Florida so there's not too many companies that hire from my area

Would like to hear some pros and cons and if you had to choose one of these companies, who would you go with.

Thanks.

Consider your location as well and it affecting your miles.

Are you trying to get home all the time etc?. If so, may want to find out what lanes are better and consider moving to them.

Consider a carrier that is more regional to your location as well. Like diel jerue.

Just a couple quick thoughts

Diel Jerue is all produce ain't it?

Lots of time sitting at tomato houses then driving all night.

Produce = not for me.

Maybe don't give up on Werner yet but try to get into a dedicated board?

Dollar General maybe?
