When I first started working in hospitals I just wore regular white tennis shoes (leather). They worked pretty good but I was on my feet for 12 hours straight so I had to find a pair that could hold up to this type of condition. I found a pair of new balance shoes that were great for 2 months (costly though) and fell apart. Then I got a pair of nursemates that lasted maybe 4 months. Then I found a pair of clogs from a nursing scrub site that were awesome. You could hose those suckers off before you came in the house and wipe them down with bleach. But they started looking nasty and since they were rubber I could not use white shoe polish on them. So I ordered another pair just like them. But the new pair doesn't feel the same and they are hurting my feet. So now I am back to the drawing board to find a good pair of shoes.
