Finally, a decent Pilot

2xR

******* Derelict *******
Camped at the new(er) Pilot at exit 85, on I-40, in Jackson, TN.. Woot-woot.. They got a Denny's, with great food, and BEER served in the restaurant. The parking lot is big enough for rookies to park without knocking fenders off. Did I mention they had BEER?

2xR; knows a good thing (especially cold and in a bottle) when he taste it.

If it's very new it won't be nice for too much longer....once the word gets out on it.

that is going to turn into a DOT hotspot looking for drunks behind the wheel. just wait til the first fender bender in the parking lot blamed on beer. enjoy it while you can because it won't last long. i love beer probably than most of you here but driving a truck and beer don't mix. under .04 is our limit and on most cases that is only 1 beer an hour.

Don't mistake my post as an endorsement of of operating a CMV (or any other vehicle) while impaired. However, once the truck is parked, and, the break begins, belly up to the bar and throw a few back...

I won't even buy a bottle of beer in the store and take it back to the truck for consumption. It'd be my luck Swifty would hit me, while I was enjoyin' the buzz, and, then I'd get jacked up for drinkin' in the truck. No thanks...

Even if I do my little bit of drinkin' in a bar, when I return to the truck, I get in through the passenger door.

2xR; knows to not touch the wheel while buzzed.

i didn't mistake it as an endorsement but you and i both know common sense is gone and some drivers will see that pilot as a place to get drunk.

i have a few bars myself i like to down a few in certain places around the hood while i am out there . my favorite 2 is one up in pittsburgh and the other is in south carolina.

You're right. I spent some time there and it is nicer than most other pilots I've been to. Lots of space for pull-ups for the rookies and those of us thatsometimes have a problem when there is too much room...

Denny's at a Pilot..Yeah, i'm so excited. I hate Arby's.

I believe the one I like is in Nitro, WV. I get the same thing everytime I go in there and if it isn't in the warming rack thingy they go in the back and dig for it LOL
Very nice people and they are not rude in the least!

Nitro... That's a tough little Pilot... I've almost committed motor vehicular suicide just leaving that place, and, have had to wait 30 minutes to get into the entrance, then longer than that to finally get to a pump.

It's on my "no way in hell" list... :nono:

You eat there??? :biglaugh:

if im not mistaken that is a fuel stop of usa believe it or not. the weird thing is there is alot of pilots that r getting dennys in them lately. the upside is we my bf and i do not drink.

Learned a long ago from my time with the Virginia DOT safety service patrol and working with the state police doing traffic control for DUI arrests, when I decide to imbibe, I do my George Thorogood imitation and I drink alone...one bourbon, one scotch, and one beer.
