I was going to look into a trucking company that offers training, but I had a couple of circumstances that I needed some opinions on. I actually had my cdl about 30 yrs ago and did nothing with it and just let it expire when my first medical came up for renewal. I’m now 56 yrs old and wanting a change from my present job which brings me to my first issue. Do companies like to take the time to train someone who will probably retire in about a decade anyway. My other issue is I had a pacemaker implanted over 3 yrs ago. It is not an ICD (defibrillator type), which I know is an automatic disqualifier. In fact I would be able to prove that it works only 1 to 2% of the time. Other times it only monitors, not pacing at all. I’ve never had any medical issues from it and I am in good health otherwise. In fact, the only problem I have with it, is it gets in the way of my golf swing. If anyone has heard stories or seen someone in my situation I would appreciate your advice or thoughts. Thanks
