Diesel prices easing after record high

After recording a record high average diesel price of $3.444 per gallon on Nov. 26, the Department of Energy has recorded four weeks of decreases. On-highway diesel prices averaged $3.309 per gallon for the week ending Monday, Dec. 17, according to the department. The average price, however, was still 70.3 cents per gallon higher than it was one year ago.
