Decision needed on regions...

I totally agree with TTW as regional rep. (southeast region) and it wouldn't hurt for lunachic as Asst.. You two work very well together and have been pretty much a team since day one. Southeast Region:: Va., N.C., S.C., Ga., Fla., Tn., Ky.
Northeast Region:: Md., Del., W.Va., Pa., N.J., N.Y., Oh.
New England Region:: R.I., Vt., Mass., N.H., Maine, Ct.
South Central Region:: Tx., Ok., Ark., Miss., La., Ala.
North Central Region:: Ind., Ill., Mich., Mo., Ia., Wisc., Mn.
Before I go any farther, does anyone not agree with any of this? If someone doesn't agree, let's try something else. These are just suggestions.
Now that I'm done and posted, I can see I type way too slow around you people......LOL

Need to get final decision on regions. This is one I pulled from another thread. Couldn't remember exactly where mine was, but it basically was a 4 region split using the Mississippi River, Mason Dixon Line and the Rockies.

Before I get too many pages setup with file names I may need to change later...I'd prefer to get this issue put to bed.

I just thought it might be best not to get each region too big to control effectively. That is why I tried to keep them to about 6 or 7 states each. I agree, we need to decide on what the regions will be and get the Reps in line quickly. I would gladly step up, but I already have a very qualified Rep in my region. Come on people, let's get this thing organized. Everyone was all for it a few days ago, now it's time to get it in motion.

It dosen't make me any difference, I just need to know.
And thanks for the compliment Bandit...
I love my wonderful friends here on this forum. I'm proud of what we are accomplishing.

Well in Illinois where I came from the labor force is much better than where I am now in Indiana. Most of my work comes out of Illinois and it pays the best. Now when you are in Indiana the labor rates are at least 50% less than Illinois. Being in the trucking business, it is much cheaper tax wise to be in Indiana and operate out of Illinois for the rates. The Illinois rates are still pretty good, but the Indiana rates are getting lower, and the Indiana truckers are heading to Illinois and cutting the rates to get the work. I was fortunate to live next to a native here in Indiana that taught me most of the Indiana population had moved from the Kentucky area to northern Indiana for the steel mill jobs. I had learned a new name for people here. In Michigan, farmers were hill billies, here in Indiana the decedents from Kentucky are yellow hammers. That is an inbred hill billy depicted from the movie deliverance. All deriving from the Hatfield's and McCoys. What I hate to say is things are starting to come unglued here. We have politicians from the Chicago Illinois area now running politics here, and you have the so called yellow hammers now catching on to the fact they are getting screwed right into the ground by the city slickers. The people here ( don't take me wrong) are just not very sharp. But they are smart enough to know when they make little, have little and are satisfied, are now getting screwed out of what very little they do have. The town I am in has about 125 people. There was a few jobs here. Now closed. No work unless you travel at least 30 miles and more, or you are Mexican or a teenager without a summer job and willing to de tassel corn for $10 per hour, but that only lasts for two weeks out of the year. Other than that minimum wage is about the best you can do unless you have a professional job and work far away. I guess what I am trying to say is, I don't know what support you will get from Indiana. Most of them only care about having some food on the table, a rifle to hunt, a john boat and fishing pole to fish along with a 10 year old four wheel drive and a shack they call home. The only time I see one wanting to work is when he needs gas, bullets or bait. GOD STRIKE ME DEAD IF I AM LYING. I have seen businesses close when hunting season started, and why. Because no one comes to work. That is why I will never hire anyone from here.

Maybe Indiana should be in its own region, that way we don't screw up anyone else's

We should still pursue state rep's. There's no reason to limit the avenues of reaching out. If a person is willing to step up and lead, but is more comfortable with handling his/her home state...then I don't believe this would be detrimental to the cause. How does everyone else feel about this?

I have no problem with anything at this point. But I still say that once we all agree on a person or persons to represent a state or states. The reps need to sit down with any and all ideas from the people all involved and make a list of all the problems in this industry. To argue about one thing now, is just a waste of time. It all needs to come out, and it all needs to be addressed. Then it all needs to be put in order with demands of getting this all in order. I would have no problem with representing the central area. But what I want to hear is, someone wants me to do this. I have my own ideas to fix these problems, but this may not be what others may want. I do think some of us are getting off course as far as who has done more out in public compared to who has done more through the internet. I myself could be talking to people out in public if we go back to work this week and my wife could be working the internet. I do not feel this is a competition to see who will do better. I look at this in a different way. Anyone who can get my attention in the first place has something that may help me or hurt me. From that point I can make my decision. I have had people say I think way out of the box, better yet I am not even on the same page, or I am in outer space. But everyone of them has had to come back and ask me how did you know. How did I know, I don't have the answer for that. I can say this, anyone willing to spend any time or effort in any way to try and help us out is a plus. I don't care if you make flyer's and go to shopping malls. I don't care if you research our government moves and blunders. I don't care if you have a sign on your car or you yell through a bull horn to people or sit behind this computer helping the cause. The fact is we all are trying to help each other in some capacity no matter how great or little, and we should be thankful. I bow my head to any and all on this forum that has in any way tried to help make this better for the true American trucker. It is you the true American truckers and their families and loved ones who are doing what they can to make things better for all of us.

I couldn't have said that better myself, why would you try to discourage ANYONE from feeling like they can't make a differnece, especially since we have been as devoted as we all have been. I can't understand that. Is there so many people out there fighting that we are not valuable? I don't think so.

Sweetheart, you just keep doing what you are doing, if you need some help, you know we will back you. We all have a part to play in this thing called life. What we do just effects some more than others. No matter how great or little, all is needed and appreciated in the furtherance of making this better for all of us.

Thanks for that hun, I am proud to be working here with you all. I don't care what anyone says, we have all done our part in trying to make a difference. People may choose to fight in different ways, but i commend ANYONE who has taken a stand and try to fight for this country.
