Mark your June calendars. The dates for CVSA Roadcheck 2015 have been set for June 2-4.

The annual 72-hour inspection blitz is the largest targeted enforcement effort on commercial vehicles in the world. It is a joint effort of the Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance, the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration and Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration, Canadian Council of Motor Transport Administrators, Transport Canada and the Secretariat of Communications and Transportation (Mexico).

This year CVSA specifically noted it would be checking medical certificates on the roadside. Recent changes in the regulation have truck drivers wondering whether they should carry their medical cards with them. Steve Keppler, executive director for CVSA, admitted to Land Line that while drivers’ medical certificates should have been documented by the appropriate licensing agency, there have been problems.

This is such a load of bullshit!

There have been so many mixed messages about this, with many drivers thinking they don't need to carry medical cards because we're supposed to be on a system similar to Canada, where a valid CDL means the driver also has a valid medical clearance. I'm willing to bet there are drivers who have valid medicals, but aren't carrying carrds.

Now, they'll get in trouble for doing what they believe they're supposed to do. Incredible.

I don't have a medical card! I never have had one, I would not even know where to get one because they don't issue them.

:couch: Now I wait for someone to tell me what. lol

It was my understanding, that as of this year, you no longer have to carry the card. I think whoever said that though, advised carrying it anyway because there would be tons of law enforcement just as confused about the law as the drivers.

Anyhow, I will likely keep my card in the same book as the rest of my plant certifications and crap, which is always in the truck. Someday, they might get this figured out, just in time to change the law to something else.

Let me see ya paypawork son, Medical cawd Like I ain't got one Eh. Ya need need a medical cawd. Ah take off Eh!:canada:

Yeah well,

A year ago you could go online and self-certify.

This year, you must go down to the lisence office and turn your paperwork in
