The makers of Tylenol have voluntarily recalled more than 20 liquid medications for children and infants due to the risk of contamination.
Bacteria were found in an inactive ingredient in products manufactured between April and June 2008, according to ABC News. It was not used in packaged Tylenol products sold in stores, but was manufactured at the same time.
"[Tylenol] is implementing this voluntary recall at the warehouse and retail levels, because examination of one of the inactive ingredients did not meet internal testing requirements," the company wrote. "However, the packaged product, shipped to retailers by the company, has met all specifications."
Tylenol issued the recall voluntarily in consultation with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, the company said.
The recall applies only to Children's and Infants' Tylenol liquid products. Click here for the full list of affected products and lot numbers.
