One California business was recently fined $9,500 for emission violations.
The California Air Resources Board fined Pacific Sod for failing to test, measure, record and maintain records for its diesel truck fleet in 2007 and 2008 at the company’s Camarillo and Patterson, CA, terminals.
Diesel truck fleets are required to perform annual smoke tests as part of CARB’s roadside smoke inspection program.
As part of the penalty, Pacific Sod also has been required to guarantee that employees responsible for conducting the inspections attend a training class on diesel emissions compliance testing within one year and provide CARB with documentation that the company is carrying out inspections during the next four years.
