Beware of CR England

Hello All,

I attended CR England's training course with a promise of a job afterward s last September 08. I completed the class and did well but the day before I was to take my road test for my CDL they disqualified me for not driving in the states for so long.

Now at the time I was concerned while going through their crash course to get my CDL but figured that was the norm every where. We started with some 87 students and by time I was ready to test ther were only 12. Most were DQed for drug related incidents orr Jail time not reported. Anyhow they were for the most part considerate and tried to hook me up with another company that did not have their same driver time policy. It did not work, no one they referred me too would help me. I guess their consideration was just to ge rid of me.

Since than I was offered a job by Werner. They did not have their own school but guaranteed me a job if I completed a professional school. Well considering they sent me a letter in writing I attente Road Masters School in San Antonio Texas. The class cost about $5900 but was worth every penny. These people know what they are doing and do not try and cram all the important information down your throat and hope that you will learn the rest on the road. CR England should be thrown in jail for their un safe un ethical forms of teaching a novice driver how to drive a truck. People its all about numbers with them and they really do not care about their drivers one little bit. They are inconsierate and have no heart!!!!!

Anyhow, I recommend to all that want to be a trucker to go to a professional school of your choice and get trained right. The school will also get you hired with one of several companies out there, if you qualify. Make sure you do not have any outstanding tickets, warrants, back child support etc. Otherwoise you will be wasting your time.

Stay away from CR England. They are dangerous and wrecklessly irresponsible people. They just donot care about their drivers.

Best Regards,

The Mayor

Armed guards, metal detectors, and bulletproof glass in their main terminal should raise a red flag in most folks minds.
I drove for them for 21 months, so I know this to be true.

WOW,they have all that at their headquarters? You would think that should tell them how angry they make the drivers.I've only heard 1 possitive thing abouth crengland yrs ago from 2 trainers at a flying j in the laundry room.Only because they were currently driving for them. They did say that cr has a bad rep with the DOT.

I drove for England. It wasn't bad, and the majority of the grief I saw coming from the drivers were from those that refused to toe the line. HoS violations, log violations, etc. Don't know how many drivers I heard whining about being put on probation because the ran well over their HoS. I'd always look at 'em and tell them to look in the mirror before they started ragging on the company.

The biggest beef I heard while driving with 'em was miles. Unfortunately, they still have issues with getting good DMs. Mine was a jewel. Ran my butt hard, and I always had decent miles. But I know a couple of other drivers who finally gave up because their DM wouldn't hustle to get the miles for the drivers on their fleet.

Now... Is the company perfect? Nope.. Not by a long shot. But a LOT of the negative you hear from the drivers are either from those that have never driven with the company, or from those that were canned for a reason and they're not telling the whole story.

I had a "jewel of a DM also Biker. And I havent ventured into a story, "whole" or otherwise. I am mearely sayin that they (England) do little to put down the bad rep with drivers. Ive seen the type of drivers you mentioned too. England is ate up with them. But I never liked going into the terminal because the staff are very rude. Didnt like being frisked either. I been driving for 7 years, and have a clean MVR and DAC, and I know how to log, but still was treated like a convicted felon whenever dealing with office personell.
They have an enormous turnover. That cant be denied. I'm just saying that they share some duplicity with the "bad" drivers in contributing to their bad rep.
Respect,
greybeard

after what happened to you, i am really surprised you have that attitude about them.

Hey, doo-doo happens and I'm more realistic than some regarding company policies. No sense in burning bridges unless they REALLY deserve to be burned. ;)

CR England is one of the worst companies to work for. How do I know, because I worked for them very briefly. In Nov and Dec, and they were making their solo drivers turn in their trucks and drive team. The dispatchers give priority loads to Lease teams, then lease solos, the rest goes to company teams, and then company solos which they have been trying to do away with. I was lucky to get $160 a week and I was team driving. It was one of the biggest mistakes I have ever made. So many of these new drivers come right out of their training and become lease operators and trainers all in about 3 months. It is extremely scarey. The lease operators make their money by training, and that is what the company wants.

Don't tell me I didn't toe the line!!!!! Ask Cerb what a stickler I am for rules! And darnit Cerb tell the truth!

Why would they bother do go through all that trouble, just to DQ you? Training drivers, even potential drivers costs a lot.

We started with some 87 students and by time I was ready to test ther were only 12. Most were DQed for drug related incidents orr Jail time not reported.

And why is this CR England's fault again? Yes, they should probably be more thoughtful about who they bring in, but they cannot control the deeds of liars.

Anyhow they were for the most part considerate and tried to hook me up with another company that did not have their same driver time policy. It did not work, no one they referred me too would help me. I guess their consideration was just to ge rid of me.

They tried to help you. What should I beware of? Many companies would not have even bothered to do that, trust me.

How the hell do you know?

Again, for some reason they DQ'd you, but still tried to help you, and they're the bad guy. Riiiiight. Something's fishy about your story, buddy.

Stay away from CR England. They are dangerous and wrecklessly irresponsible people. They just donot care about their drivers.

I do that anyway. I'll only drive for smaller companies because it just seems like common sense to me to work someplace where you're a name and a face and not a number. Literally.

I have no interest in CR England, or any other large company, and most of the time find their driver incompetent, irresponsible, unsafe, ignorant, and just plain annoying, but I see posts like this all the time, where a lot of the complaint is in fact the complainers fault, and they refuse to be totally honest, or admit to something that will make the story make sense.

Wow. Holy all one sentence, batman!

Do drivers at these large companies have the option to appeal to a higher authority and change DM's? I'm assuming that means "driver manager", which is basically a fancy term for dispatcher.

Yeah. Like I said in my first rant in this thread. I think a lot of the problems people have at companies, they bring on themselves. I know Ive done it a time or two...

Good buddy of mine went through England the same time I did. He HATED his DM. Kept bitching about him. I kept telling him to get put on my team, as my DM was a demon when it came to getting miles for his drivers. Did he do it? Nooooooooooo! He quit instead. :banghead:

That was funny..... Hmmm...... Just sitting and wondering where it all went academically wrong. Then again, it may have never been right.

:sarcasm:

I spend a lot of time donig just that on this board. I'm not expecting perfection from anyone, and we're not all trained special forces keyboard gurus, but I'm pretty sure we all know what a period is.
