American's Protest Around the Country...

Lastnight a few of the members who agreed with the protest got together and planned a date and a plan on how to promote this action. I would first like to thank them for their time, input and for the most part, lol their professionalsim. It was a very productive and successful meeting. I will put the information in the form of a letter (or flyer) so it can be copied and emailed. Also Silver Surfer will be posting a flyer that will go out around the country. :
American Citizens will protest "Fuel Prices" around the country on August 27, 2008 12:00p.m.at the State Capitols.
Our governement has ignored our pleas for help, through emails and letters. Now it's time to knock on their door.
Please join us in a "Peaceful Protest"and let your voice be heard. It's time to face our government and let them know 'We've had enough".
We will be promoting this action by internet (web sites, emails, organizations, news letters,etc), flyers, CB radio, and just good old fashioned word of mouth. Please help us send this message and tell everyone you know or even come in contact with.
WE WILL SPREAD THE MESSAGE FROM COAST TO COAST.

Wish I would have been around yesterday evening to look in on this discussion, as it sounds like you are starting off on the right track toward accomplishing something that could really help the industry out.

I have been very outspoken lately in regards to the lack of a solid organization, with proper leadership, a well thought out plan, and proper implementation of that plan.

I am hopeful that the leaders of this movement can remain professional when faced with the confrontation that you WILL receive by those who expect immediate change, and by those that simply look for reasons why things wont work, or are more concerned with finding fault in something rather than trying to improve something.

An organization that is based on "action" is what the industry truly needs. Well planned action, but action none the less.

I won't get much deeper into this as I am anxiously waiting to hear more about what the plan is, but I will say that I think it is very important to be prepared to speak on what the organization is working to accomplish when and if you are met by the media with questions, and also when/if you are met by politicians who are willing to listen. This is very important.

Well Bull, i guess i will be the one to break the news to you and i know you will be disappointed but i do hope you understand. This protest is about the fuel prices and allowing Americans to be able to have a voice and to be heard. Too many people just don't know what to do or even how to go about being heard. I do realize that there are many problems in the trucking industry but that will take a great deal of time to work on these issues that must be addressed and just like the TRUCC Act will probably just be stuck in committee. It is the fuel prices that are destroying this country and putting everyone out of business. Think about when you hear that another company is going under and the reason is "Fuel Prices" everytime. I have said this as many others have, if we don't get the fuel prices under control we are not going to have to worry about the trucking industry.

when I was younger in the 70's the greatest protest I was appart of started out with a man a gutair and a bag of jellybeans.

That's right Luna, this is just the beginning. First you must solve your most citical issues and move on from there.

Silver Surfer, as soon as you post your flyer we will start emailing and circulating it. The big push handing them out in the public should start one to two weeks before the date, while it is fresh on everyones minds.

you have to crawl befor you walk, I'm still truck first, and peace. But I will do what ever it takes to start kick this Country into taking action.
Once the action (protest) begins and grow's then the attention needed will be their,
I'm going to spend alot of today writting a letter, then send them out to trucking company's. collage's ,biker clubs what ever it takes.
I do hold a place in my heart for Gold Mothers For Peace, and I hope we are able to bring peace into this when the time is right.

And once you get enough support, have people taping them up at each and every pump even if they don't allow it.

You know Bull, you are right, you do get alot of rejection, But i have signs in my yard and all over my car, I have been followed by people into parking lots where people wanted to discuss this issue, I have people coming up to me in parking lots when im getting in my car, I have had my trash man see my car and vent his and his companies frustrations, so for as many people who want to criticise there are many many people who are frustrated and want to do something. This is what truely drives me. I was coming out of the mall recentely with my daughter and when i got to the car someone drove by and stopped and started venting, my daughter asked, does this happen everywhere you go and i replied, yes, everytime i go out alteast one person will approach me and express their opion. She said, isn't that embarrassing. I told her if you want to reach people you have to be willing to put yourself out front and be noticed to get peoples attention. Not to mention the horn blowing and the thumbs up as people pass.

Maybe not a strong person, but a VERY stubborn and hardheaded one, lol. Can you all relate to that, lol.

Also now that the foundation has been laid for the protest anyones ideas and input is still very much welcomed.

Ok, lastnight I'm sure everyone has seen Mark(TACU) post updating us. If you notice in the post it stated that he had joined with "stopoilspeculators", this web site is the "airline industry" they have requested that all americans take a stand. If they have joined up with them then this thing could become "HUGE". Lastnight i p.m. Mark and asked him what was the plan and were their plans in the near future or months from now. According to the p.m. i received from Mark this morning it is already being put into motion. There plan is to protest at as many state capitols as possible. Now this is my opion and I'm looking for yours, I think we should put things on hold until we see their date for the protest at the state capitols and do this thing up right. I will tell you one thing, lastnight i went to the airlines web site and watched a press release and the airlines said they wanted this taken care of by the end of August before congress leaves the hill. They also stated that in the three days that their web site had been opened over 1,000,000 emails had been sent out to the government. This web site by the airlines was created last week. This is truely great news. I will post Marks p.m.:

we have our state reps conducting rallies as we speak getting ads flyers out in diferent states, talking to businesses, Citizens etc, once we get the states set up in which shouldnt be too long...we will be holding protests on the same day at all capitols we can...
