Ok so here is my dilema... I USED to have a California CDL-A and drove locally in Caliy but for the last company it was only about 4 or 5 months and the time before that was for like 1 week about 6 years earlier and about 2 years before that for the other two companies one was about 7 months (very shady Local company when I was there) and the other was about 1 month for a 2 truck outfit (no longer in business) N E Ways when the wife and I relocated to her home town of Salem OR we were going hunting with the folks so needed to get OR DL ($300 more for hunting lic and tags with Cali DL) and I was an IDIOT since I was told it was $200 to maintain a Class A and didn't have the money for it at the time signed that I acknowledge of the downgrade... 2 years later I go to get a copy of my OR printout for a towing company and while in line readin the commercial handbook for giggles discovered "If already have a current and valid Class A CDL from another state the fees are waived to transfer to OR"

Ok with that out of my system... I am working on finding A) getting my permit to start with and finding someone that will let my practice and test in a truck B) finding a local company that will work with me for "training" C) apply for a company that is hiring "students" or Complete newbies.. unfortunatley Swift is about the onlyone that has any interest in the Oregon area that I have come across
Now here is the annoying questions part...
1) Anyone willing to help me out with option A or B
2) Any recomendations for companies to look into.
3) This one is the trickiest.... How can I convince my wife that it won't be that bad if I am gone for 2-3 weeks at a time.... Hell when we first met besides chatting online we only saw eachother 1 weekend a month..... Oh and here is the trickier part... her EX-Bro-in-law is an OTR driver and ended up having an affair (see my challenge to convince her)
Any Tips or Pointers would be greatly appreciated...
