I Got Fired From Walmart And You Can Too!

IN FACT

Ill go so far as to say in order to be in that 'hood youd have already had to Traverse at least ONE very clearly marked NO TRUCKS routes.

Our Valspar warehouse is down on the left by Weber road but back in the industrial park.

Where that one road curves left and north, that cutoff road over to Rt 53 is called Norwood Rd or something and is VERY CLEARLY MARKED no trucks.

Norwood may not be correct.

Where's Kingston I wonder?

Kingston is the n/s road I put a shitty red line over. Normantown is the e/w road I put the blue green whateverthe**** color line on.

Methinks the occasional truck driver looks at Google Maps and sees that Normantown goes to Rt 53 and 53 goes back up to I-55 after the weigh station.

But at the intersection at Kingston there is/was a "no trucks" sign. So they get scared and double down on the stupid & turn south on Kingston.

Just my theory. I haven't been in Romeoville, lovingly nicknamed "the anus of the Earth" by the locals, in probably over a year.

Grew up around there though. 😒

You don't suppose there are roads marked NO TRUCKS simply for facts like that do you? NO that's tin foil hat conspiracy talk.

I 70 at the Illinois/Indiana line has all these signs saying you must stay on the interstate. I used to have a semi regular pickup that had me getting off there and going around. Such an "outlaw". 😎

I'm not saying it never happens but for it to be "out of hand" and them "flying through" seems a bit of a stretch.

Maybe I give drivers too much credit, I dunno. I mean there's an interstate right there but I can see the temptation of a shortcut too. Especially in the Chicago burbs.

Is Normantown Rd actually truck prohibited? I looked on street view and didn't see any signs, particularly around Kingston that would cause me to turn there if I had an oh shit moment.

Edit: nevermind I see one as you make a left off of Crossroads. So most trucks wouldn't be on Normantown to begin with. SW guys would just jump on 55 right there.

I do see a buttload of weight restrictions everywhere though. Seems like a shitty place for an industrial complex to me. 😏

No wonder traffic sucks out there. They funnel everybody into it.

Its possible.

Crossroads Parkway runs along the interstate while staying in the industrial area also and goes behind the scale so you can then either run across the CAT scales at 55/53 or just ignore all of that and hop on either 55 or 355 which is right there too.

I've heard.

I would never choose a route myself that ignores scales.

I just took another look and damn they've changed shit. There used to be a frontage road on the south side. I'd take Weber up to the frontage to Bob Evans back in the day about 30 years ago on my dirt bike. It was entirely rural.

Yeah if someone is in that industrial area by Sherwin Williams or Valspar, and wanted to bypass the northbound coops they'd have to be an idiot to take Normantown when they could take Crossroads.

She's been bitching on Facebook about trucks on her street for years though.

Supposedly a truck went down her street and caused a water main break and her block didn't have water for a few days.

Or it just broke on it's own and she blamed it on a truck.

A likely scenario. We have to make sure every other country on the planet has the best while our own infrastructure crumbles. Replacing water and sewer mains cost billions because everyone has to dig into someone else's pocket to make sure they get a piece of the pie without even lifting a finger or knowing anything about the job.

That's so you cannot "bypass" the Weigh Stations by taking route 40....

They force you to stay on 70 at that point until after the scale house

Maybe they don't hold a gun 2 your head or physically force ya..

But usually when they go that far to put up the sings there's usually a "backroads" cop watching to stop any trucks..

I know of afew spots in Tennessee like that where they will pull ya over trying avoid scale and that's signed too..

Well...this past Wednesday was the initial divorce hearing.

I took a beating money wise. Hopefully we can get some of that scaled back a bit going forward.

But...the wife didn't quite get all the victories she was obviously banking on either.

House appraisal was finished this week. We will see if I can keep the place under the new market value or if I go apartment hunting.

More details to come.

Oh, and I've ceased my 6 year sobriety streak because it obviously gained me precisely dick.

Cheers!

Back in AA my "sponsor" used to tell me no matter what happens "Drinking" won't change things or make it any better..

Either way don't be a dumbass like me and post Tall Boys of Natty Ice in your Sleeper Bunk

Seemingly unfazed.

My son is 16 so he's that angry teenager age anyway. Haven't seen him since the beginning of May. Temporary Order says we're supposed to spend one Saturday or sunday a month at least together. Wife told her lawyer some NASTY shit that's only partially true. Turning on the drama is what lawyers do. My relationship with my son is not as bas as he made it out to be.

I have more time with the daughter.

More details later. I'm going to a Rodeo. Hopefully I'll meet some rich horse chick that's looking for a newly divorced, near 50 year old truck driver that there's nothing at all remarkable about.

Don’t wish this shit on anyone. Dirty divorces shouldn’t have to happen. But you’re also not alone in that experience.
