The Broke Down Thread. Post Here to Whine About Breakdowns.

Is it behaving at all like a wire rubbing through slowly and being jostled? That's what happened with my marker light. It wasn't until it actually failed completely that I could diagnose it as being the wiring.
Nope, nothing that has happened would indicate that to me. All in all, there are multiple things happening that all seem related. Ive had it where no interior lights or dome lights will work. I start the truck and shut it back off and it will all work fine again. Or, I can simply turn the power off at the switch by the driver seat, then turn the power back on and it will be fine.

I don't think the door latch will fix it. I think it is a module that is causing the issue.

Ah yeah that has to be a controller issue.

I think the worst break down I had The truck had was when they sent out this Craker Jack T/A "mechanic" to fix my truck on the side of the road. It was 21F and no shit this guy actually left me on the side of the road to go to his house and get some tools.
Six hours later with no heat in the truck he decides he can't fix it and I get a wrecker to tow the truck to............Detroit!

Yes lovely Detroit right by the airport so technically Wayne county MI.
I am not familiar with the cultural customs of the Detroit area, first time I ever saw a sign in a Subway restaurant that said Credit or exact change only. We do not make change
Years ago hadda road service guy come out and he had no Flashlight and I let him use mine gosh you in roadside service ain't got a flashlight better yet a portable lantern you can hang off the hood .

Another time a Wrecker drivers phone "died" ....No Charger so he hadda use MY PHONE to complete the Billing Process with my company

I swear People these days

Is there any legitimate reason for the lights to be controlled by a computer?

If it was a Volvo I would say that the flashing dome light is the disco feature.

Low voltage cutoffs, these trucks shut specific things down at different voltages. Timers that control how long the lights stay on, or if they come on at all when you enter.

Legitimate? Depends on each persons perspective.

That shit can be done without computer chips.

To some people, putting pineapple on a pizza is legitimate.

I consider those people to be mentally ill, so their perspectives don't count.

Hook up to the Body Control Module and set it up the way you want it. Just about every parameter in a truck or car can be changed to fit your needs.

We gotta have 3 city dispatchers at all times. Veep’s orders, so we got a couple drivers that are trained to do it

We got this one driver who will absolutely pitch a shit fit over every little thing. One day last week this guy had an easy run with 11 stops in one town, so last week’s substitute dispatcher gave hime 3 pickups... all in that same town. He raised hell to another dispatcher about “why am I gettin slammed with all these pickups” :confused2:

Gets better. He broke down on the way back that day, shredded a fan belt. He said that was the substitute dispatcher’s fault :biglaugh:

Hard to relate. 11 stops sounds like a pain in the ass to me, same town or not.

True, not all routes are created equal. Could be residential or beauty supply store crap involved, but that werent the case here.

Typically on my run I can knock that out in 2 hours

Yeah those are the easy and quick in and out ones where you can make some time and bang out 15-20 pretty easy in 3-4 hours if you can keep it hoppin.
Are you paid hourly? If so I don't see the point in hopping. Unless y'all get a minimum 8 hour pay or something.
