They go back farther than that, but I'm guessing they weren't typically in the price range for a sensible common man.

Those who needed and owned pickups, didn't need seating for an entire family. Those who lived in town had a car, rather than a pickup.

That's because the majority of today's pickup buyers really don't even need a truck but they think they do.

What they need is a 4 door car but they won't admit it.

Parked at the Rest Area south of Sikeston, MO., on my way to Phoenix. Taking the 40-30-20-10 route, it's more miles, but far better highway conditions, less pulls, and no oklahoma tolls. That, and just a change of scenery.

Stopped with just under 7 hours left on my 70, pick up 7 each day tomorrow and Sunday. Probably leave me 300 or so miles away from my destination by Monday morning, but I will likely get up early enough to still unload Monday morning, then plan on a reload possibly that afternoon or maybe wait til Tuesday.

3 weeks or so of steady running, many of the new drivers don't realize you can actually do that without resetting. And I hope I don't do it again for quite some time, or ever. This is way too long to be out on the road. One week of it left, before parking the truck and heading to Mexico for a while.

If you do any sort of home improvement stuff on your own, I mean anything, you quickly find out how convenient it is to have a pickup. You don't even think about needing it, til you don't have it.

these days, we cram everything either into a jeep, or a Prius. Gets really challenging sometimes.

I am in the process of getting a Florida takeoff bed to replace my Minnesota rust bucket.

should make that rig good for another 20 years getting it properly rust proofed.

2012 bought in 2018.

never rust proofed. You can see it over the rear wheel wells that came through this year.

Mike should get one of those 4x8 harbor freight tilt bed trailers that fold up to store up against the wall in the garage.

He can even pull it with the Prius.

Someone else on here who I won't identify because he doesn't want to admit to owning a Prius, hauled a full size F-250 bed with a Harbor Freight trailer today.

He didn't have a truck the appropriate model year to put it on, but it was a bargain

Granted. I was on my way home from 2 weeks on the road..

I was coming home empty from somewhere in Wisconsin and pulled in to Northern Tool in Menominee Falls and bought my 44" tow-behind Bush hog. The crate was too wide for a pickup anyway.

They said "you got a trailer? This won't fit in a truck". I said "yeah it's already backed into your loading dock"

Weatherford, TX. Not where I thought I would be, but a few traffic jams, and a detour to avoid a huge traffic jam limited me to 616 miles today. So, I'm still over 1000 miles away from my delivery that I plan on delivering Monday morning in Phoenix. Might step up the speed a little tomorrow to make sure I can cover 700 miles. Flying J in Lordsburg is a 740 mile push, so that might be too far. Truck stop in Deming is 680, so that might be the goal for tomorrow.

Unless I decide to keep running slow, then it's Las Cruces (620 miles)

I just took 2 loads for NASA on Monday, my supposed day off. Not happy about it, but they gave me the heads up 2 weeks ago that they may get a lot of air traffic from Boeing and other entities with interest in the spacecraft that never launched on Friday. All of those execs., will be leaving and returning for the propsed launch date of 8/03. Then they will all take fuel and leave again. It's going to be a busy week upcoming.
